Educational Technology and Copyright Law

I've learned that as soon as you draw or take a picture of something it instantly becomes copyright. It is your work and no one is allowed to steal it. Copyright is a United States federal law that protects original work. For educational purposes students and teachers are allowed to use your work. For example a student is allowed to include your work in their project. Giving credit to the person's work that you are taking is a big thing. In some cases you don't have to give credit but in most cases you do have to give credit. It is the right thing to give the work you are using credit. Claiming the work that is not yours to be yours can get you in a lot of trouble.

Do Now 2/22

I feel that the FBI forced Apple to do this. They gave Apple no choice of what to do. Apple creating the program that can hack any iPhone on the suspect's phone, now makes most of Apples customers afraid of their information being stolen. Apple would now need to create even more security to block the new brute program they've created. The FBI wasn't wrong for doing this but, I felt that they should have handled this more professionally.

Multimedia Blog

Ms. Hunter is the Freshman English 1 teacher. I would say that Ms. Hunter is a really fair teacher when it comes to homework, and grades. Every Friday she gives us a quiz to take based on a vocabulary book called Wordly Wise. I expected to learn about Essays, short stories, books, vocabulary words, etc. when I first joined her class. For the Wordly Wise quiz on Fridays Ms. Hunter does give us fair warning about it. The Wordly Wise quiz does help out your grade a lot.

So far I have learned about writing essays, short stories, letter to the author, ect. I’ve also learned about ways to improve my writing, and my reading. The Mid-Terms for her class were challenging. The link to Ms. Hunters Wood-ridgeschools webpage is http://wood-ridge.schoolwires.net/Domain/185. The link to her webpage where she grades most of our work is http://turnitin.com/.

Every now and then we would use the laptops in the back of her room. When we are on the laptops we would usually type essays or classwork. We do not use our phones for anything in her class. We are currently reading Romeo and Juliet.

I feel that the Livescribe Echo Smartpen could be used for many other things too. For example you can play a song and then record it and play it whenever you want without having to bring your phone or musical device with you. It can also be used for FBI purposes, for example you are undercover and you are talking to the suspect and you need to record what he/she saying but he/she notices that you are wearing a device. With the Livescribe Echo Smartpen it can record the conversation for you without anyone noticing that it.
